BlueRadios’ Non-profit will be responsible for licensing Intellectual Property patent portfolio to the AR/VR wearables market with net proceeds going to Colorado animal shelters.

DENVER, CO, November 01, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — BlueRadios’ Non-profit will be responsible for licensing Intellectual Property patent portfolio to the AR/VR wearables market with net proceeds going to Colorado animal shelters.

-Technology Licenses will cover all Golden-i® related patents, software, and hardware designs that BlueRadios obtains ownership of at trial and will NOT require licensees to use a Kopin micro display in the design.
-Kopin in Federal Court in Denver stipulated to make corrections to include BlueRadios inventors to several existing issued patents.
-BlueRadios is seeking to correct ownership to include BlueRadios of almost 36 issued patents, and damages could max at around $180M at trial.
-BlueRadios prosecuted and was issued sole ownership to AR/VR technology patents with 2007 priority date.
-BlueRadios plans to terminate their existing contract with Kopin and have new license agreements managed by the non-profit.
-Kopin was sanctioned earlier this year for continual discovery violations. BlueRadios has requested the Court to award it almost $1.5M of costs and attorney fees.

BlueRadios will continue to litigate a related Lawsuit in Federal Court in Massachusetts against Patent Law Firm Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds (HBSR) that represented both BlueRadios and Kopin with patent prosecution under the Joint development agreement. Kopin’s lifelong board member and Secretary David Brook (founder of HBSR) sold all his unrestricted Kopin stock ($2.7 million) a few days before BlueRadios complaint was filed and was named personally in the lawsuit along with four other HBSR Patent Attorneys.

The non-profit will be responsible for AR/VR patent prosecution, licensing and enforcement. BlueRadios’ and Golden-i Technology is used by a number of companies in the AR/VR industry including Kopin Corporation, RealWear, 3M (Scott Safety), Google, Leonardo-DSR, HMDmd, Vuzix and (Solos & Lightning Silicon) – former Kopin CEO John Fan’s current private companies.

The case number is 1:16-cv-02052 and the original complaint is available for download at http://blueradios.com/Kopin_Complaint.pdf.

Note: Golden-i® is a Kopin Corporation register tradename that broadly describes the patented technology and products.
